OUR STORY

Meadowbrook Campground has been in business for over 50 years.

In 1986, Joe and Emily Sammut became the proud owners of Meadowbrook Campground and continue to operate the park today.

Meadowbrook has its own unique story of welcoming seasonal campers and make them feel they are apart of our community.

Over the years, the campground has welcomed large traveling tent groups, European families and many from the East Coast. The park has been the summer home of our campers, many who are now friends. A few of them have even decided to get married here!

Unique to Meadowbrook is our history with travellers and working families from Newfoundland, who came to work in Alliston and the surrounding areas.

These families have not only raised their children alongside ours, but their children's children have come to find a home at Meadowbrook. Many have now settled in Ontario.

As time passes and tourism evolves, we continue our longstanding tradition in welcoming new campers into our campground.

Meet the Owners

Joe and Emily Sammut have been the proud owners of Meadowbrook Campground for over 35 years.

There is never a dull moment with Joe at the Park. Still young at heart Joe can keep up with many of the middle aged campers despite being twice their age. You can catch Joe making his rounds saying hello to campers, having a cold beer with a neighbour or in his workshop fixing something. Joe has always welcome both family and friends to Meadowbrook and believes that living life in the commodity of others is how best to live at all.

Originally from Malta, Joe came to Canada in 1959.

Over the year's Emily's role in the park has from stretched form helping travellers needing directions, welcoming new comers, to organizing camp day, to running the old store. Nowadays Emily can be seen tending to her gardens and enjoying life. Emily has notable achievements in Meadowbrook including - Horticultural Award Winner for the best Roses and Flowers (Multiple years) Wood Piling Champion, and Chief Cook. When Emily is not at the park, she is often overseas in Slovenia.

Emily's philosophy in life is "mi casa u casa" "you respect my home, I'll respect yours."
